Hi Everyone
I am also involved in both the Point St. Charles History Society and the PSC Community Theatre. (For those of you that might not know - Point St. Charles is an old working class district of Montreal).
These two groups will be holding a old historical "Joe Beef: market on Saturday, September 13th 2008. The following are the details in case it may be of interest to you....
POINT ?JOE BEEF? HISTORICAL MARKET ? SEPTEMBER 13TH 2008
The Point St. Charles History Society (SHPSC), in co-operation with the PSC Community Theatre, is planning a Historical Public Market scheduled for Saturday, September 13th 2008.
We hope this will be the 1st of an annual Historical Market event in our community.
This first market will be dedicated to Joe Beef and will take place in the Joe Beef Park located on Centre Street.
We are hoping to have a number of artists and/or businesses rent a booth in the Market in order to promote their goods (or services). We will supply a table, a couple of chairs, an apron etc. to anyone that would like to rent a space. (The rental fee is only $ 25.00 for the day to help defer some of the set up costs.)
You do not have to be a resident of the Point to either visit, or to set up a booth at this event.
We are also planning to publish a small booklet that will list all the participants in the Market. So, if you would like to rent a booth, we will need to know by no later than August 7th in order to allow time to include you in this booklet.
We are also hoping that as many people as possible visiting the Market and/or having a booth in the Market will dress up in period costumes that might reflect the mid to late 1800?s.
We have a number of documents related to this event including a Press Release (English & French) and a Protocol Agreement (English & French); and some historical information about Joe Beef etc., which I would be pleased to e-mail to you upon request.
(If you know anyone that might be interested in having a booth, but would not likely see this notice, please do pass on the information).
We hope that it will be lots of fun so if you have goods or service to sell in the market, please contact us ASAP
